VG Siddhartha Missing on 29 July 2019
Cafe Caffee Day’s founder has been missing since Monday Night of 29 July 2019. He had reportedly written a letter to CCD staff. In which, He wrote ‘I am very very sorry to let down all the people who had put their trust in me. I have failed as an entrepreneur. Also, I fought for a long time, but today I gave up as I could not take any more pressure from one of the private equity partners forcing me to buy back shares, a transaction I had completed six months ago by borrowing a large sum of money from a friend. Tremendous pressure from the other lenders led to me succumbing to the situation’.
According to reports, Siddhartha got off from his car near a bridge across the Nethravathi river near Mangalore. Moreover, The spot was about 375 km from Bengaluru but did not return even after an hour.
A panicked driver went down looking for him, but could not find him anywhere. He then alerted VG Siddhartha family members who in turn informed the police.
VG Siddhartha Death
On 29 July 2019, 59 years old CCD owner had arrived at 6 pm from Bangalore. Moreover, He asked his driver to drive towards the Netharvathi river. He was last seen near the bridge. It is suspected that he committed suicide by jumping off the bridge.
After a massive search operation of 30 hours by special forces, teams and multiple agencies, the body of Cafe Coffee Day founder VG Siddhartha was recovered from the Nethravathi River. The process was confirmed by the Mangaluru city police.
The Body was found floating over near Hoige Bazar at around 6:30 am of 31 July 2019. The body was to Wenlock Hospital for the post mortem process.
