Sriram Venkataraman is IAS Officer, He was born into the Hindu family of Kochi, Kerela, India. He completed his schooling in his hometown. IAS officer Sriram Venkataraman was born in 1986 (age 33 years old; as in 2019). He hails from the family of Kochi Kerela, India. He has one sister named Laxmi Venkit and is also a doctor by profession. There is not much known about his family. He believes in Hinduism and holds Indian nationality.

In 2013, Sriram Venkataraman was the second rank holder in Civil Service Exam. He became a very inspirational personality in south India. From 2014 to 2015, He served as the Assistant Director as Indian Administrative Service officer. He did his job at Pathanamthitta.

From September 2015 to 2016, He worked as the Assistant Secretary in the Department of Food and Public Distribution. Govt. Of India in New Delhi, India. Next, Sriram Venkataraman did the job as the Sub collector of Tiruvalla from 8 December 2015 to 22 July 2016.

From 2016 to 2017, Sriram did the job of Sub Collector and SDM at Devikulam, Munnar. He is also director of Industrial Training Department and National Employment Service Kerala at Trivandrum, India. Moreover, Sriram has also served as the managing director of KASE (Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence -SSDM).


Also, He was managing director at ODEPC from 2017 to 2018. He went to Harvard University in the US for Masters in Public Health Programme. In 2019, Sriram Venkataraman was appointed as the Survey Director by the State Government of Karnataka.

Accident Case (Malayalam Journalist KM Basheer)

On 03 August 2019, an IAS officer Sriram Venkataraman was arrested and charged under section 279 (rash driving on a public way) and 304 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code. Suddenly, He became the new headline from the Kochi.

Also, the incident took place on the 02 August 2019’s night when Venkatraman was reportedly returning from a private party in a club in a posh area of the capital city and driving a car. He allegedly drove his car in a rash manner and hit the stationary motorcycle of K Muhammad Basheer (age 35 years). Mohammed Basheer works as Bureau Chief of the Malayalam newspaper ‘Siraj’.

Basheer survived by his wife and two children. At the time of the incident, IAS Officer was with a woman friend Wafa Firoze, a model and wife of Dubai based businessman who owns that car. Later, the Journalist’s dead body taken to his hometown at Vatakara in Kozhikode. Venkatraman also got injured and got himself admitted to the private hospital.

The police came to the spot after nine hours to collect the blood sample of the officer for the medical examination. The police also criticized for taking almost nine hours even after an eyewitness told the police and media that Venkatraman found drunk.

In 2017, Sriram got media attention to bring down a 30-feet tall metal cross, put under the grab of ‘spiritual tourism’ at Papathychola in Munnar, as part of an anti-encroachment drive.

He was the second rank holder in 2013 for the Civil Services Exam.
