Dhawan studied from St. Mark’s Senior Secondary Public School in Delhi. However, with his interest in cricket, he started playing on carpet matting.

At the age of 12, he joined Sonnet Cricket Academy in Delhi by his uncle’s recommendation. Well, do you know that there are a lot of professional cricket came from Sonnet club? First-Class Cricket Career of Shikhar Dhawan

After the 2004 U-19 Cricket World Cup, Shikhar Dhawan made his debut appearance in first-class cricket from the Delhi team. He played his debut match against the Andhra team in November 2004 in the Ranji Trophy tournament.

In 2005, he made List-A cricket debut versus Jammu & Kashmir team in Ranji Trophy. For which tournament, Dhawan scored two consecutive hundreds against Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.

By this performance, he picked in India the Seniors team to play Challengers trophy. From where Dhawan made his first appearance with MS Dhoni and played 200 runs opening partnership.
