Nishikant Kumar was one of the known film directors of India. He mostly worked in Hindi and Marathi films. He was born and raised into the average and caring family of Dadar, Maharashtra, Nishikant completed his schooling locally from the private school. Next, he enrolled himself into the college of goa where he did graduation in hotel management. He also did his further education from Ramnarain Ruia Autonomous College in Mumbai. Since childhood, Nishikant Kamat had a special interest in film making and acting arts.

Career
Nishikant Kamat completed his college study from Goa. During college, he got interested in acting and film making. He started participating cultural team of his college and became a secretary too.
Next, Nishikant moved to Mumbai and started off his career as an assistant director. Initially, he worked for the ad-films and short films. He also worked as an editor and TV director for more than 10 years.
Along with film making, Nishikant Kamat was very good at scriptwriting and has worked in the field for more than four years. Kamat also jumped to the acting profession and made the first appearance with film “Hava Aney De.”
His other noted acting performance are the films “Saatchya Aat Gharat,” “404 Error Not Found” (2011), “Rockey Handsome” (2016) and “Daddy” (2017). He used to appear as a supporting actor in most of the films.

He made his first directorial debut with Marathi film “Dombivali Fast” in 2005. His film went hit and received huge appreciation and award for his work. He also directed noted Bollywood blockbusters like “Mumbai Meri Jaan” (2008), “Force” (2011) and “Drishyam” (2015).

In 2016, Nishikant Kamat directed a film “Rockey Handsome” with actors Jhon Abraham and Diya Chalwad. The same year, he received another breakthrough with Irrfan Khan starrer film “Madaari.”
His latest Bollywood films were “Daddy” (2017), “Julie 2” (2017) and Bhavesh Joshi (2018). Apart from films, he has also worked for the tv serials “The Final Call” and “Rangbaaz Phirse.”
Nishikant Kamat Death & Cause
50 years old director Nishikant Kamat passed away on 17th August 2020. He took his last breath at the city hospital in Hyderabad. He has been diagnosed with Chronic Liver Disease for the last two years.
After his demise, the whole industry felt shocked and will miss him forever. Many popular celebrities shared emotional messages on their social media. A Marathi actor Ritesh Deshmukh was a very good friend of Nishikant Kamat and wrote “”I will miss you, my friend. #NishikantKamat Rest In Peace.”
