Konkona Sen is a very known actress, director and writer of the Indian Cinema. She belongs to the family of artists based in Kolkata, West Bengal. She enrolled her self in the Modern High School for Girls. Next, Konkona earned a degree in English from St Stephen’s College of Delhi. As she belongs to the family of writers and actors, Konakana had a great interest in artistic activities since childhood. She also started her career as a child artist with the Bengali film industry. By the time, she developed an interest in writing, film making and direction too.

Konkona started off an acting career in childhood and made first film appearance with Bengali movie “Indira” in 1983.
Acting Career
In 2000, Konkona made acting debut with Bengali film “Ek Je Aachhe Kanya.” After that, she featured in the film Titli along with Mithun Chakraborty and Aparna Sen. Both films went hit and she received admiration for talent.
In 2001, Konkona played the role of Meenakshi Iyer in English film “Mr and Mrs Iyer.” Her acting skills got reworded with National Film Award for Best Actress. Following that, she appeared in several English and Bengali films.

Her other breakthrough performance is in the film “Omkara” based on Shakespeare’s Othello. She played the imprtant role of Indu Tyagi along with actors Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor. Konkona Sen also received second National Film Award for the film.
