Kapil Mishra is an Indian politician from Delhi, India. He belongs to the family of politician Anupama Mishra who was the first mayor of East Delhi Municipal Corporation. He completed his schooling locally from his home town and then completed graduation from the University of Delhi.
Kapil Mishra was always interested in politics and public speaking since his childhood. At his young age, he was the coordinator of “Youth for Justice“, youth action group based in Delhi. He became a part of various socio-economic protests such as Jessica Lal murder trial, issues of Farmers, encroachments of the Yamuna river.

Kapil Mishra came into limelight with his anti-graft movement during commonwealth games. He also released a book titled ‘It’s Common v/s Wealth‘. Next, Kapil joined the Aam Aadmi Party in 2012 and became an active member of it.
In 2015, Kapil Mishra became the Minister of Water and Tourism after winning Assembly election 2015. He got removed from the ministery when he accused Arvind Kejriwal of taking 2 Crore from minister Satyendra Kumar Jain. Next in 2019, Kapil Mishra joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Kapil Mishra won the election as the AAP candidate from the Karawal Nagar by a margin of 44,431 votes against BJP candidate Mohan Singh Bisht. Also, he became the part of the Arvind Kejriwal cabinet and took an oath as the Water Resource Minister.
Kapil got removed from the ministry when he accused Arvind Kejriwal of taking 2 crore bribe along with Satyendra Kumar Jain. Being a member and MLA of Aam Aadmi Party, he was sharing and supporting BJP campaigns during Lok Sabha Election 2019. He also campaigned against his own party.

- In May 2017. Kapil revealed that he saw an Arvind Kejriwal accepting 2 Crore in cash from his minister, Satyendra Jain. He also sought appointments with the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Delhi to lodge his complaint against Arvind but couldn’t prove it.
- During the 2020 Delhi Assembly Election, he got controversy due to his inappropriate tweet. He tweeted that, ‘There will be a contest on Delhi road between India and Pakistan on February 8’.
- On 23 February 2020, Kapil Mishra publicly spoke out in a rally against the anti-CAA protestors. He gave a speech in the presence of DCP of North East Delhi, Ved Prakash Surya. Moreover, he tried to intimidate police to remove the protesters from Jaafrabad and Chand Bag area with three day’s time.
- After the rally, Kapil himself posted a video of threatening police with his encouraging speech for violation. Within a few hours of his rally, violent clashes happened between the supporters and people against CAA.
- Kapil Mishra accused the Aam Aadmi Party leader and municipal councilor, Tahir Hussain, for the killing of Intelligence Bureau officer Ankit Sharma.
