After UPSC exam, Gupteshwar Pandey started off his career as Superintendent of Police in Bihar. After that, Gupteshawarji held several reputed positions along with Bihar Police Department.
He served as a Superintendent of Police in major cities of Bihar. Next, he got promoted as Inspector General of Police at Tirhut Division Muzaffarpur Range in Bihar. Under his positions, he did remarkable work and started many initiatives.
Gupteshwar Pandey travelled in Bihar’s regional parts and campaigned for the liquor ban in November 2015. He received major milestone in his initiative after the government of Bihar banned the alcohol.

He also added that IPS officer Vinay Tiwari reached Mumbai from Patna on official duty to lead the police team there but he has been forcibly quarantined by BMC officials.
