Ali Fazal was born into a middle-class muslim family of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. His parents got divorced when he was 18 years old. During school time, he used to take a part in plays and drama events. He was selected for the role of Trinculo in the play The Tempest by William Shakespeare. First, he got admission in Engineering, then he changed stream to Economics.
